Fun in the Sun @NTL

(MASS TORT NEWS) This year’s Trial Lawyer Summit ’22 at the Fountainbleau in Miami was another well attended and successful event where everyone was able to gather and for the moment disregard the Covid/Omicron impact on our day to day lives.  Congratulations to the Trial Lawyer Summit Team and Michelle Swanner for an awesome event.  Held at the Fountainbleau Hotel, which was a fairly good distance away from the traditional location at The Loews, but all went well and the hotel and NTL hosted an awesome event.

Michelle Swanner and the NTL ’22 team were awesome!

One of the event highlights was Ben Crump’s announcement of the $1,000,000 gift to the Saint Thomas university in Miami to set up a scholarship fund 4 disadvantaged students. Not only is this an example of true leadership, it offers insight into how law firms and others can have a direct impact on the need for leveling the field in areas of civil and criminal justice inequities.

          “Adam and Fu”

We were also able to sit down and talk to leadership, vendors and others, who by all appearances seemed to be fully back in the swing of things in keeping our industry moving forward and all expressed confidence that attending our legal events is back in the norm.

         “Trevor and Hunter”

Another highlight was spending time with NTL resident artist, Trevor Goring, when we sat down and discussed his long history and legacy via his friendships with so many of the people who have shaped the mass tort world and civil litigation industry, we are now in.  As you will see by the other pictures below, the event was attended by a who’s who in mass torts and all were readily available to discuss things that are emerging as well as ongoing day to day happenings in the mass tort world.

Not to be overlooked, though pictures are limited, were the cabanas, where at the start of NTL ‘22 the weather was a bit chilly, but by Monday morning things were in full swing and everyone was enjoying the cabana parties.

We met with and spoke to tennis great John McEnroe, courtesy of The Lake Law firm, who hosted a dinner for Mr. McEnroe at Nobu one evening, which was very well attended, where at times Mr. McEnroe seemed unsure on how to interact with close to 100 plaintiffs lawyers in the room and many seeking to speak to him. Kudos to Paul Faust for running interference on behalf of Mr. McEnroe throughout the evening.

Among the guests we were able to spend time with were Fu DeBrosse-Zimmerman, Jim Onder, Mark Grossman, Hunter Shkolnick, Rick Meadow, Harlan Shillinger, Adam Levitt, Tal Braddock, Keith Givens, Majed Nachawati, Ed Lake, Elisa D’Amico, Troy Rafferty, Paul Faust, Bill Pintas, Paul Cunningham , Mark DiCello, Sean Domnick, Leila Billings and many others. We also want to thank the event sponsors we spent time with including Open Jar, X Social Media, Torticity, Persist, Archer, CAMG, Broughton Partners and Western Alliance Bank, with our sincerest condolences to Randy McPhail and his Kansas City Chiefs loss that was broadcast at the champagne tasting party in the Archer/Western Alliance/Velawcity, Fountainbleu penthouse suite on Sunday night

“Sean, Fred and Troy”

We will be broadcasting lLegalcast interviews with many of the Guest mentioned above in the coming weeks , Mass Tort News and LegalCast want to extend their sincerest thanks and recognition of everyone who attended as well as those who hosted trial lawyer summit 2022, Including the national trial lawyers. I want to extend a special thanks to Mr. Trevor Goring, who we will be working with on producing a multipart series that will reflect his history as well as his numerous friendships with the national trial lawyers members and so many more of the people that have shaped mass torts into what we recognize the industry as today.

“One of the rare opportunities to see and listen to truly great plaintif civil trial and criminal defense lawyers side by side. Great program. Great networking.  Great fun at NTL ’22 in Miami Beach.”
-Trevor Goring, NTL Artist-in-Residen
